Main Content

My heart is moved by all I cannot save: so much has been destroyed
I have to cast my lot with those who age after age, perversely,
with no extraordinary power, reconstitute the world.

– Adrienne Rich

Helen StevenThis site is in memory of our dear friend Helen Steven, who died last year. Peace activist, writer, gardener, climber and artist, she is much missed, by colleagues, friends, fellow activists and fellow stravaigers.

Helen’s partner Ellen Moxley has asked us to sell MSF logosome of Helen’s paintings and drawings as  a fundraiser in aid of Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (you can follow the link to read about the amazing work they do). If you’d like a picture to remember Helen and to make a donation to MSF, please take a look!

Helen at FaslaneFor each picture, we’ve given a suggested price, but you can give any amount you can afford (above a minimum). We’re not sure where all the landscapes are: if you recognise the location (or if what we’ve put here is wrong!) please leave a comment in the Reviews section under the appropriate picture.

Practicalities

There are over 80 beautiful paintings and drawings, so please have a browse through and select any you would like to buy. Please pass on the link to any friends who might like to contribute. Don’t hesitate, as they are already selling quite fast!

The simplest thing will be if you can send the money to me (Chris Booth), by bank transfer, cheque or cash if you can collect the pictures (from Portobello, Edinburgh). I will then send off the money in batches to MSF and update Ellen on what has been raised. If you want the pictures sent by post, there will be a flat rate of £2 (unframed) or £6 (framed). When you order, please select your method of payment, and delivery. You’ll get an email acknowledgement.
